The 3 "Staying Top of Mind" Marketing Tips Challenge
I'm challenging my on line marketing friends to list their 3 best Staying Top of Mind marketing tips. The idea is:
- It shouldn't take a lot of time to execute
- It shouldn't feel too much like an ad or in your face
- It should help your customers or potential customers think of your services.
My 3 tips:
1) Send Out Cards: Three people recently mentioned this to me - Brenda OToole, Sandy Wrenshaw and Becky Carroll. The idea is you subscribe to this service and when you get back from a meeting or networking event, take 30 seconds to fill in the info and mail off a card to your new contact.
2) Contact by Alphabet: 26 letters in the alphabet, 52 weeks in a year. The idea is to divide your contacts into weeks -- contacting all the A's & B's one week, C's & D's the next and so on. Double up on less popular letters or combine those letters with the popular letters so you're not too busy in one week.
3) Press Releases as Direct Mail: When something has happened in your business and you send a press release to the media, take a few minutes to send the press release to your potential customer list too, so that they know what has happened in your business.

Chris, great topic! Thanks for the tag. Other person who recently mentioned Thank You notes is Marketing Headhunter. Amazing how powerful they are, yet how infrequently they get used.
Great idea, Chris! I will post on this the end of the week. Thanks also for the shout-out. :-)

Hello. These 3 tips are great. I especially like sending out press releases as direct mail. That way, you're customers not only remember you, they also see the good things happening to your company. They'll be able to see for themselves how much the company has grown.
Chris,
Press Releases as direct mail seems like a good idea but don't you think people get enough junk mail. Press Releases seem to focus too much on the company, naturally, and not enough on the client so I don't know how they'll be accepted by my clients who buy/sell industrial supply products. Interesting idea though.

My fave 3 routines to stay on top of my customer's minds -
1) Thank you note with link to our feedback mechanism
1) Update from my organization - an informal communication about recent successes, products or services
3) Write a recommendation on LinkedIn
Cheers
