SOBCon '07 - What I hope to Learn & Get From the Experience
I'm really looking forward to this Friday and Saturday in Chicago at the SOBCon '07.
Here's what I hope to learn from the experience:
- Meet bloggers face to face that I've only read their work or commented on their sites.
- Learn more ways to connect with other marketing and branding bloggers.
- Find ways to use my blogging experience to add to my marketing firm's reputation.
- Get some technical insights (especially since I'm such a NEWB according to my Techno Geek son)
- Explore a whole new emerging area of marketing. Yes, I've been to direct mail seminars and SEO seminars and management basics seminars.... and I've been the keynote for branding presentations, marketing strategy workshops and new product introduction courses; but blogging is still relatively new to me.
- Expand my creativity. I'm thinking of this as a 30 hour artist date (for those Julia Cameron fans, you know exactly what I'm talking about!!)

To begin with, you must clearly define your target market by deciding whom you want to coach and what segment of business communities you would like to serve. Developing a marketing strategy involves four stages that include developing a good marketing style, identifying your target market, recognizing your key clients and managing your business plan. In seminars for marketing they give much more information on business communities.
