Why Do I Blog -- about Branding and Marketing?
Mike Sansone at ConverStations asks me: Why do you blog?
Simple reasons really.
1) Focus - It makes me consider a subject and write about it. Research a little more. Find other people who have written about it. Consider other opinions. Maybe revise mine a little more. (Igor's superbowl posts for example.)
2) Connection - I find it helsp to take part in the on line Branding and Marketing community by seeing what is tagged in Technorati. Searching the Google Blog Search for new thoughts, impressions and tactics in Branding and Marketing. All of the sudden after starting this blog, I feel a real connection between other marketing professionals around the world. (for instance: Laurence-Helene in the UK)
3) Expand my mind -- Blogging forces me to stay outside of "my own little world" of to do lists, action plans and client meetings. It helps to keep me sharp. Watching some of the incredible power points and videos posted just blows my mind. (For example, the lesson plan created by Scott McLeod.)
4) Staying current - I have a goal to add one new thing to my blog each week. Learning about RSS feeds, Flickr tools, new templates, MyBlogLog, and all the other widgets, tools and ins/outs of blogging forces me to stay more current with the technology and applying it to my branding and marketing business.
5) Enhances creativity - In so many ways I find that business is more analytical than expressive, so I look for ways to enhance creativity in business. Listening to the Artist's Way on CD, finding creative inspirations in different blogs and challenging myself to incorporate new things into my blog helps me to build on my creativity. (Check out Beth Kanter's blog! I can't believe what she did for her 50th birthday party!)
So, why do YOU blog? Consider yourself tagged & link back to this post for a follow up. Here's to the Conversation Connections! Thanks Mike!

I still can't believe I did that too -- someday my children and grandchildren will get a good laugh!
Fantastic stuff, Chris! There's a rhythm to your reason. Focus (inhale), Connect (hold), Expand (exhale) - sorta like breathing:-) Stay contagious!
I totally agree! Looking forward to seeing you next month. Was that list of links helpful?
Laurence-Helene:
Thanks so much for all those links!!! I'm still working thru all of them!
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to next month.
Hey, loved the ads on the underground video. I've watched it twice already!
